Game Report by Brown Benefits: Game Report by Turn-Key Controls:
In the battle of perfect records, Brown Benefits defeated Turn-Key Controls 4-0 in Rutland. A very even first half saw both teams create chances until Kelly Sherman opened the scoring when he poked home a rebound from a Don Brown shot. In the second half, Steve Fagan doubled the lead with a 30-yard blast that went in off the underside of the crossbar for his second “bar-down” goal in as many weeks. A strong effort by Tony Gonzales resulted in him being fouled inside the box and Dante Zanatta stepped up to convert the penalty for a 3-0 lead. In the final minutes, defender Lionel Hoffman sent the ball forward and was caught late by a Turn-Key forward. While everyone waited for a whistle, the ref played a great “advantage” as Jim Kruiper broke away, beating the last defender and coolly slotting the ball into the bottom corner. The late foul on Hoffman saw the Turn-Key player ejected but that didn’t stop tempers from boiling over. The Turn-Key player then entered the Browns’ bench and after the dust had settled, the ref called for the end of the match.
Browns 4 - Turnkey -0
Turnkey Keeper Bobby Zalcik played awesome, amd made some great saves and plays, Turnkey Clint Dickenson headed a ball off a corner kick and hit the crossbar post area, Turnkey player Jeff Nice came in all alone and was foiled by the Browns Keeper, other than that Turnkey played well but still no match for the browns, who took a 1-0 lead into the second half, A Penalty kick was awarded the Browns that was outside the box which everyone saw except the reff and it was all over but the crying after that for Turnkey who went down 3-0 at that point. that still holds a 7-1 record so far this year.
