Game Report by Real JVL: Game Report by Brown Benefits:
It was a night of David meets Goliath as first place Brown Benefits took on 10th place Real JVL. Browns controlled the ball the entire game but a stingy JVL defence kept the Browns mostly at bay.

With wave after wave of offence coming into the JVL end, Stu Price was finally able to send Rickard Branby on a break away and he neatly potted the first goal of the night. Surprisingly, JVL was up 1-0. With moments left in the first half, a questionable call provided the Browns with a PK. Lionel Hoffman smashed the ball low and hard and eventhough JVL keeper Jay Christensen got a hand on it the ball found itself in the net.

It was more of the same in the second half with the Browns dominating the play but thanks to the great work of the JVL keeper and the stellar defensive effort by the entire JVL team the score stayed the same.

With moments left in the game, JVL was awarded a free kick after a hard tackle from behind. Ash Ragoonaden stepped up and with a beautiful hit, cracked the ball off the crossbar. No scoring in the second half.

Final score 1-1.
Keeper Jay Christensen had a Man of the Match performance as he and the Real JVL defence frustrated Brown Benefits at every turn and came away with a 1-1 draw. The Browns poured on the pressure from the opening whistle but Real's Rickard Branby caught the Brown's defence out and broke away to score off the post. Lionel Hoffman converted from the penalty spot to tie it up just before half time after he was hauled down in the box. The second half saw even more pressure from the Browns but Christensen made save after save including two fingertip stops on shots labelled for the top corner. The Browns would not break through and Real JVL celebrated a hard earned point.
