Turn-Key Controls 12 vs. Soccer United 1 at Marshall Fields, Vernon, BC. With half their team away or injured, Soccer United started the game with only 9 men, with the 10th and 11th arriving at the 15 and 30 minute marks respectively. By that time, it was too late, as Turn-Key built up an 8-0 lead by half time. Despite the lack of subs and some players nursing injuries, Soccer remained United and continued to play hard. They earned a small victory when United's John Milne headed in a cross just inside the far post at the 65th minute mark. The game was much closer (7-1) than the score indicated, as a tired United team made some mental errors which resulted in some goals, as well as giving their hosts an own goal and a penalty kick due to a hand ball. Soccer United's playoff preparation strategy has been successfully carried out the last few games, with their players getting plenty of playing time, having the opportunity to try new positions, allowing their keeper to remain sharp by facing lots of shots and giving their opponents a feeling of overconfidence.
